We would like to take this opportunity to wish a very Happy and Healthy New Year to all those who have received training from members of the Protective Behaviours Training Partnership (PBTP). For this first edition only, we have added to our mailing list the names of friends and associates whom we believe may have an interest in our work - we hope you forgive the imposition and please rest assured that your addresses will not be shared with anyone and you can unsubscribe at any time (see footer).
We are very pleased to be able to introduce to you our two new partners, Ann Seal and Melanie Pearson. Ann is a highly experienced Protective Behaviours trainer and Melanie is a new trainer who succesfully incorporates her knowledge, skills and experience of using PBs in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) - you can find out more about their respective backgrounds and what types of training they offer in our Partners section.
Protective Behaviours in the UK
We believe that 2012 provided some real encouragement to those interested in the promotion of Protective Behaviours. Our vision is that the PBTP website, working alongside that of the PBPeople forum facility with its spirit of openness and community, can be a real positive influence for the future development of PBs. The training website will be used to advertise courses offered by our independent trainer partners as well as provide follow-up resources to support people who access training. Please feel free to use the Contact option if you would like to request training for a specific group.
Current training opportunites
In February 2012, Sally Ann Hart will be leading a 2 day Foundation course at The Holiday Inn in Corby. Please see the attached flier for further details (this can also be found in the Events section).
In December 2012 we submitted a formal bid to provide PB training for Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire. With great pleasure we are now able to announce that our bid has been succesful and Simon will be leading the first two courses in Northampton later this year. Further independent courses will be advertised via the website and we hope to offer another 4 day Specialist Practitioner course towards the end of the year as well as Foundation courses across the UK.
We look forward to staying in touch and supporting your work with PBs throughout 2013.
